Chained am but not my souls

by MeeraMayaa

They said, am a God’s child!
I am still searching for one.
I have traveled more than you,
the length and the breadth and
I have traveled deeper,
where even a streak of light dreads to travel.
But I didn’t find anywhere a God.
I was handcuffed, beat
and what not under this Sun.
I thought God only knows to punish.

My brother corrected me one day
He said,
Sista, look within
God is in you,
Not the Master, The trader you see.
That’s it, till date
I am fighting with my God who gives me Strength
And here am
releasing the iron chains from my
Brothers, sisters and my folk’s hands
tied for the ages.
